Meeting Minutes Knights of Columbus Council 9488 October 08, 2020
Meeting called to order by Grand knight Wayne Walling.

Minutes from the September 10 meeting were approved with the correction of Trustee names and positions.
COMMUNICATIONS Brett Sinclair reported that he received a thank you card from Mrs. Jacques.
Wayne Walling reported he received literature from supreme for the annual Global wheel Chair Commission fundraiser.
Grand Knights Report Wayne reported he reached out to Brian Stange in response to his request for help and did not get a response back.
Wayne welcomed Father Kyle to the council on behalf of the members. Wayne also commented on the quality of Fathers sermons. All members in attendance echoed the same sentiments.
Wayne reminded every one the new meeting schedule of the 2nd and 4th Thursday through the end of the year. It was suggested that Wayne send a reminder email about one week ahead of scheduled meeting and Wayne agreed to do. Wayne suggested due to our current situation and up coming Holidays we should not hold the social meeting on the 4th Thursday for the reminder of the year. All agreed.
Wayne noted he received and email from DD Hopkins asking for our preference of in person degrees or virtual degrees for the time being. All agreed on virtual.
Wayne reported he had a request from Waynesboro Council 670 to assist with a procession moving St. John Church’s Crucifix to the new church on Monday October 12, 2020. Several members were interested in helping and Wayne was to follow up.
TREASURER’S REPORT No report as the treasurer was unable to be here.
ADMISSION’S REPORT Kevin McLaughlin stated the two new online candidates were not communicating and it did not look promising.
Kevin followed up on email for Chase Imoru on transfer to our council and the form 100 was not signed. Brett agreed to follow and get a signed form 100. Father Kyle signed and turned in his form 100 for transfer.
KOVAR REPORT Total collected to this point was 1215.00 with a few checks still outstanding. Brett noted that we topped last years efforts and thanked every one.
CHAPLINS REPORT FR. Kyle thanked every one for the warm welcome and said he was excited to be apart of the council.
Fr. Kyle thanked the knights for stepping up at church with ushering, cleaning and other duties related to masses.
OLD BUSINESS Kevin McLaughlin reported that Brett had picked up the Christmas Cards and outlined the plan to sell and deliver them.
Survey responses were slowing coming in. With only receiving 12 to date it was requested Wayne send an email out requesting importance of returning the survey. The idea of fixing meals to go was tabled.
Tom is working on ordering name tags for officers.
Council Shirts was tabled as Jim Baaden was looking into and not present.
NEW BUSINESS Kevin McLaughlin reported Richard had turned the council website and email over to him and he was working on updating the website.
Kevin McLaughlin asked if the council was interested in participating with Amazon Smile as a new source of income for the council. All agreed to go forward.
FOURTH DEGREE The Faithful Navigator reported that because the 4th degree meetings were social, there would be none for the remainder of the year.
The Faithful Navigator said he received communication from the widow of a Sir Knight and she wanted to donate his Tuxedo and other things. He stated he had picked them up and was going to send a email to the assembly to see if any one could use. He also stated he was going to pick up a mass card for the Sir Knight.

GOOD OF THE ORDER Kevin Noel asked we keep his mother in our prayers as well as Rex Moyer.
Jim Stekten asked for prayers for his sisters grandson who was diagnosed with White Matter Disease.
Wayne Walling stated he uncle was diagnosed with cancer and asked if we would keep uncle Junior and Aunt Janet in our prayers.
Tom Pender asked we pray for a peaceful and productive election.
